Coronavirus: All the movies, TV shows and festivals delayed/shut down globally

Life, as we know, has come to a standstill with the worldwide outbreak of the Coronavirus, which originated from the province of China, Wuhan. Across the world, schools, coaching institutes, and offices have shut down for good. Moreover, events have been canceled, movies shooting put on hold, and releases of films have been postponed. After the declaration of the pandemic, authorities have decided not to venture outdoors. According to the latest Bollywood movie gossip news, a meeting was held in Mumbai among the entertainment regulatory and film industry authorities about the shut down of shooting till the 31st of March.

With the news of shutdown, there is a delay in shooting as well as releasing of the films, TV shows, and advertisements. With this delay, several releases of March, April, and even may have been pushed to further date unknown to even the production house, and they will be known until next notice. Though some of the production houses have released the new release dates, others are still waiting to see how the epidemic shapes out in later days. Bollywood & South Releases

Till the month-end, the cinema halls in numerous states, cities, and towns of India are under lockdown, including the states, Karnataka, Delhi, Maharashtra, Punjab, Uttrakhand, Tamil Nadu, etc. There is also a possibility that the cinemas will remain closed after the 31st of March until further notice if the outbreak remains spreading uncontrollably. Besides, the pandemic has severely impacted the box office figures for the releases of February and March, which has led to the necessary postponement of upcoming releases.

This outbreak has impacted even the already released movies so bad that the production has decided to re-release it. Angreji Medium was first released on the 13th of March 2020, which got mixed reviews from the audience but was lauded for the tremendous performance of Deepak Dobriyal and Irrfan Khan. However, with the abrupt shutdown of the theatres due to the outbreak, the film gathered less attention. Therefore, helmer Homi Adajania had left with no choice but to re-release the movie at some later date. The film is a sequel of Hindi Medium, which was released in 2017 and would re-release once it is safe in India. Besides the much-awaited release of the year, which is an action thriller by Rohit Shetty starring Akshay Kumar and Katrina Kaif with extended cameo roles of Ranveer Singh and Ajay Devgun named Sooryavanshi has been postponed to some unconfirmed date. This movie is already predicted to be the biggest blockbuster of 2020. The delay in the release will impact the film. According to the latest Bollywood movie gossip news, not only this film but the delay in the production shoots is touted to have a huge impact on Bollywood business this year.

First, due to production issues and now, because of the pandemic, Sandeep Aur Pinky Faraar yet again stays delayed. The film from Yash Raj Production which was scheduled to be released on the 20th of March 2020 but delayed to further dates. Release of film SIR, a romance film of Rohena Gera, has also been pushed. Some other movies that are likely to be released after the calm of the Coronavirus outbreak include Haathi Mere Saathi and 83. Other movie shootings have been put on hold until further notice like Salman Khan’s Radhe and Shahid Kapoor’s Jersey.

Film Festivals

The Indian Film Festival of Los Angeles has been pushed to a later date, which is not confirmed yet, which was likely to be held on 1st to 5th of April 2020.
This happened for the first time in the history of the Zee Cine Awards that the award has been held in the absence of the ticketed audience.
Also known as Bollywood Oscars of the year, the IIFA 2020 has been postponed to a later date, which was scheduled to happen in the last week of March.
