Larry Ellison, CTO, and chairman of Oracle Corporation spoke about the company’s cloud strategy than ever. His keynote focused on the core differentiating factors of oracle cloud infrastructure. Oracle open world conference, management focuses on some key factors

1) Autonomous Linux OS

Oracle has extended the promise of the autonomous database to its flagship Linux operating system. The company claims that Autonomous Oracle Linux, along with a new oracle management service, is the first and only autonomous operating environment.

2) VMware Foundation on Oracle Cloud

VMware and Oracle jointly announced the availability of Oracle cloud VMware solutions that will help customers to migrate on-premises VMware environments to Oracle Gen2 cloud infrastructure. This is a major step for VMware as it now becomes available in all major cloud platforms that include IBMcloud, Google Cloud platform, and now on Oracle Cloud Infrastructure.

3) Free Tier for Oracle cloud

Oracle was criticized for the complexity involved in accessing its cloud platform. The company addressed this through the availability of a new free tier that offers a set of free services to its users. It comes with 30 days free trial program. The new tier includes two Oracle autonomous databases with tools like Oracle Application Express and Oracle SQL developer. It includes two Oracle cloud Infrastructure compute that is block storage device and object storage and backup storage.
